Family

Had a talk with family tonight.
Discovered more about family secrets.
Its weird to think how we're all the same and struggle the same.
No one is immune to mistakes.

a message to a friend in colorado

note: i wrote a lot because i was wired from driving all night long and couldn't sleep when i get to my parents, thus a long reply at 5am in the morning... enjoy.

i LOVE that fact that you LOVE your job. i love it when i hear people that love what they are doing... especially teachers. i want to teach sometime... for some reason, i idealize teaching... maybe its because i love being in school. did you like middle/high school? i did... i want to go back (but i also want to live in the present/future... i don't want to be a hometown hero that talks about the good ole' days of high school)

videotaping you and your class WOULD be fun. i wanted to do a documentary this semester on homeschool kids, but no one jumped on board and it seemed difficult to do with getting permission from minors to videotape. i love films/documentaries based around kids and education... its my life's goal to make a doc/film about school (elem, midd, or high).

speaking of films about schools... there's a filmmaker lady that lives in austin,tx that graduated from FSU and Stanton... she's making a film called Brain Brawl... its a film based on Stanton... here's the tagline: "Imagine a school where the nerds make up the social elite, where calculus is more important than football, where nothing is sacred except winning first place in the statewide academic competition, Brain Brawl."... i can't wait for her to make it.

as for austin... i am not sure if i am still moving there or not. i have several ideas for my location after graduation. possible locations are:
1. tallahassee - my lil sis will be a freshman & i have started a production co. with some friends. i would like to get to know bethany a little better and do some more cool things/get more experience with video. however, there are no good hospitals in tallahassee. that's the only downside to staying in tallahassee... no good nursing jobs/training
2. jacksonville - good hospitals, good memories, close to tally, new environment
3. gainesville - 2 hrs from tally, 3 hrs from parents, good hospitals, a university, young people
4. tampa/sarasota - 1 hr from parents, good hospitals, universities, young people
5. austin/denver/san francisco - have friends there, film is there, lots of stuff to do, good hospitals, far from home, a new state, young people

i was driving home tonight and was thinking about my future... post graduate plans... and i was thinking of doing something cool for a month or two after i graduate before i set out into the real world... one of my ideas was to learn spanish... haha... that's possible in 2 months, right?

actually, i was thinking of taking some time off from school/work to travel somewhere for a month or two and take an intensive spanish course... what do you think? where would you suggest me going/doing? i know you went to costa rica for a few weeks before CO... how'd that go? could i do something like that without having hardly any spanish experience... note: i haven't taken spanish since high school and im no where as good as Brandon and Aaron...

hope all is well,
matt

p.s. - what are you and jay up to? is he moving to co? i heard you may move back to jax...
